The Xun, as one of the oldest wind instruments in China, has a history of about 7,000 years. The prototype of the xun, according to legend, was made by ancient inhabitants to trap their prey. It was a stone ball with holes that could imitate the sounds of birds and animals. Later, with the gradual increase of sound holes, it evolved into an instrument that could play melody.
The song was composed by Wang Houchen, a folk wind musician, using Qinqiang music as material. The "aloes" in the title refers to the aloes pavilion in Xingqing Palace of Chang 'an City in the Tang Dynasty. Tianbao Sheng in the world, Tang Xuanzong and Yang Guifei often led the crowd in this banquet, and poet Li Bai wrote "clouds want clothes flowers want to rong, spring breeze blowing the sillum Revlon" beautiful verses. However, all night long clubs and dances, but can not cover up those who have long lived in the deep palace, waiting on the side of the royal palace ladies, miss their hometown relatives, and lament their future. The simple and melancholy melody played by the Xun, as if in the quiet of the night, floating in the bank of the wood pavilion, let us have a glimpse of the miserable fate of the little people under the glory of the prosperous times.
