Xin Xiaohong, a famous erhu performer, is one of the top ten outstanding young people in Hong Kong in 2002 (the 30th session). He is currently the Erhu Principal of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and teaches at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Her playing tone is mellow and soft, and her technique is used freely. She is passionate and unrestrained, yet soft and subtle. She has both the rough and unrestrained style of the north and the delicate and euphemistic charm of the south. Her handling of music has a touching charm.

Xin Xiaohong studied erhu with his father since childhood, and his father was a senior huqin performer and educator in Xiamen.

She has frequently performed in concerts since she was ten years old. He joined the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in 1980 and has been the erhu principal of the orchestra since 1987. In the same year, he was invited by RTHK Radio 4 to be its resident performer. In addition to performing with the Chinese Orchestra all over the world, Xin Xiaohong has been invited by music and art festivals in Italy, Taiwan, Macau, Beijing, Singapore and Malaysia to hold recitals. In 1983, he started to hold solo concerts in Hong Kong. In 1989, he became the first Hong Kong performer to hold an erhu recital at the Beijing Concert Hall.

She participated in the first Beijing National Erhu Competition in 1985 and won a special award; the following year she won the overall championship in the "Hong Kong Outstanding Young Chinese Musicians Competition".

Over the years, she has accepted the careful guidance of many famous teachers in Hong Kong and China. With her hard work and research, she has gained the strengths of others. In her performance, she has not only brought into play the playing styles and techniques of various genres, but also created her own unique style. .

In addition to performing and recital with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra all over the world, he has also held many recitals at the invitation of music and art festivals in Italy, Taiwan, Macau, Beijing, Singapore and Malaysia.

Since 1983, he has regularly held solo concerts in Hong Kong every year.

In the spring of 1989, a solo and concerto concert of Erhu and Shuanghu accompanied by the Big Band of the Central Chinese Orchestra was held at the Beijing Concert Hall, and the live performance was broadcast by CCTV.

In recent years, she has spared no effort to promote and introduce different forms of playing methods and techniques. In recent years, Xin Xiaohong has been repeatedly invited by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to perform Erhu solo performances for visiting foreign heads of state at Government House. He was named as the 2002 (30th) Top Ten Outstanding Young People in Hong Kong, and his achievements were included in the Who's Who in 2001 "The Sequel to the Biography of Modern Chinese Musicians". He is currently the Erhu Principal of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and teaches at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Artists Union and a member of the UGO CONTA L International Music Association.
