Zhao Yuanchun, a well-known young erhu performer, a young teacher of the folk music department of Tianjin Conservatory of Music, the first doctorate in folk instrumental performance from the Central Conservatory of Music. Born into a musical family, he started learning Erhu with his father Zhao Hanyang at the age of five. In 1996, he was admitted to the Primary School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music and studied under Yan Jiemin, a famous erhu performer, educator and professor of the Central Conservatory of Music. During his studies, he also received guidance from many famous scholars such as Wang Guotong, Li Heng, Yu Qiwei, Xu Jiade, Chen Yaoxing, Yu Hongmei, Xue Ke, and Zhou Wei.

Zhao Yuanchun is one of the outstanding young performers of Chinese folk music. He has won many awards in China's top erhu competitions, including: In October 2001, he won the first prize in the "Tianhua Cup" National Erhu Competition. In October 2007, he won the bronze medal of the 6th Chinese Music "Golden Bell Award" National Erhu Competition. In August 2008, he won the Wenhua Art Academy Award - Gold Award in the Youth Professional Group of the 3rd National National Instrumental Music Performance Competition. In October 2008, he won the gold medal in the Erhu Competition of the 15th Taipei Concerto Competition. In October 2009, he won the first place in the Silver Award of the 7th China Music Golden Bell Awards Erhu Competition. In October 2011, he won the first place in the Silver Award of the 8th China Music Golden Bell Award Erhu Competition.

Zhao Yuanchun is a young performer who has been active on the domestic and international stage in recent years. He has visited the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Spain, Japan, France, Denmark, Taiwan, Seychelles and other countries many times, and has performed as a soloist in many large-scale music festivals, including: Taipei City Chinese Orchestra Music Season, American Western Art Festival , French University Student Art Festival, Royal Danish Academy of Music Art Festival, Venice Biennale Art Festival, French Confucius Institute China Day Art Festival, etc. Collaborating orchestras include: Taipei Municipal Chinese Orchestra, Hunan Symphony Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Tianjin Song and Dance Theater Symphony Orchestra, Tianjin Opera and Dance Theater Chinese Orchestra, Netherlands ATLAS Chamber Orchestra, German AAE Asian Art Orchestra, Henan Yellow River Symphony Orchestra, etc. In 2005, he collaborated with the Hunan Symphony Orchestra to perform the Erhu Concerto "Erhu Imagination No. 5" by the composer Mr. Huang Anlun.
