Sister Xiao, Buyi and Miao people play musical instruments. The Bouyei language is called Uli Ulu. In Miao language, it is called Zhandaxi, Libu, and Mimi. Chinese called sister Xiao.

When playing the sisters' flute, the pipe body is placed upright, the index finger, middle finger and ring finger of the left hand press the upper three holes of the two pipes at the same time, and the index finger, middle finger and ring finger of the right hand press the lower three holes of the two pipes at the same time. The upper end of the flute pipe is placed between the lips, and the air flow enters from the air inlet port, which impinges the edge of the sound hole, vibrates the air column in the pipe, and emits two tones of the same degree at the same time. Through overblown vocal range c1-g2, up to twelve degrees. There are also two sister-pipes with different syllables, generally four degrees apart. The left-pipe flute is called the palace, which is called the sister-xiao;

The sister Xiao is soft and lyrical, with bright highs and soft lows. Often used for solo. It can also be played in ensemble or as an accompaniment to folk songs. The music is mostly suona music, such as "Welcome to the Pros", "Pick up the Guest", "Leaving the Mother" (when getting married) and so on.

Sister Xiao is an inseparable wind instrument that young men and women can’t live without when they are in love. The sound of Xiao is often used to convey emotions. The music includes “Shouting Mother’s Tune” and “Chen Qing Minor”. Each song has lyrics. Famous folk artists include Huang Shouchang and Chen Mingshi.
