Dong Xiaolin, a pipa player, graduated from the China Conservatory of Music with a master's degree. Under the tutelage of pipa master Professor Liu Dehai. Winner of the Golden Bell Award for Chinese Music in the 8th National Pipa Competition.

In 2017, Dong Xiaolin was selected into the "13th Five-Year Plan" National Key Audio-Video Publishing Planning Project. The "Chinese Contemporary Outstanding Musicians Series" "Fingertip Ballet - Dong Xiaolin's Pipa Performance" was published and distributed by the China Record Corporation CRC, and edited and created two albums. The first pipa works "The Resentment of Zhaojun" and "Deep Night" were nominated for the best record in the 2nd CMA Singing Work Committee Music Award. It is also collected by the National Centre for the Performing Arts of the National Centre for the Performing Arts. The premiere of the Pipa Concerto "Song of Heaven and Earth" at the Beijing Concert Hall received enthusiastic response.

As a disciple of Mr. Liu Dehai, she interprets and premieres many of Mr. Liu Dehai's works such as: "Six Horses of Zhaoling", "Fingerball Ballet", "Eight Views of the Countryside", "The Love of Sunset", "The Book of the White Horse" and "Festive" "Arhat" and so on, especially the masterpiece of pipa martial arts "Six Horses of Zhaoling" completed by Mr. Liu devoted ten years of hard work. The difficult performance skills and profound musical connotation of this piece are a new milestone in the history of pipa music.

Dong Xiaolin's playing style is rigorous and delicate, calm and atmospheric, with superb playing skills, pure and rich timbre, profound musical connotation and full of inner tension. She is a powerful pipa player in contemporary China.
