Introduction to Wu Houyuan(suona)Master music educator

Wu Houyuan, a famous Chinese composer, folk music educator and conductor, was born in Wuhan, Hubei in November 1946. During his lifetime, he was a professor at the Central Conservatory of Music, an executive director of the Chinese National Orchestra Society, and a consultant to the US-China Art and Music Society. In the early years, he was engaged in pipa performance, and later specialized in composition. In addition, he has arranged many accompaniment versions for the Chinese Orchestra, such as "Qinqiang Brand Song" and "Song of the Wanderer". He died of illness on August 24, 1999, at the age of 53.

From 1983 to 1987, he was preparing for the establishment of the Academy's Chinese Orchestra and serving as the music director. The troupe has participated in international music events such as "British Durham Oriental Music Festival" and "Edinburgh International Arts Festival". Wu Houyuan's representative works include: First Erhu Concerto "Red Plum Capriccio", Second Erhu Concerto "Bamboo Rhyme", Jinghu Solo "Jing Suburbs" (Won the "Beijing 1982 Annual Music Creation" first prize) , Jinghu Concerto "People and Dramas - Feelings of Reading [Three Kingdoms]", Pipa Concerto "Venting - Feelings of Reading Tang Poems <Pipa Xing>", as well as Zui Hu's "Good News from Hometown", Zheng quintet "Three Lines" "Wait.
