Zhang Hongyan, a native of Shengzhou, Zhejiang, is a pipa performer and educator, a professor of the Central Conservatory of Music, a master tutor, a member of the All-China Youth Federation, and a director of the Chinese Culture Promotion Association. She was a visiting scholar at Columbia University in the United States.

Zhang Hongyan is a new-generation Chinese performer who has received much attention and praise from Chinese and foreign music circles. Her repertoire is extensive, skillful, talented, and musically expressive. He has held recitals and tour performances named "Pipa Xing" in many cities in China.

Zhang Hongyan is determined to pursue the integration and improvement of Eastern and Western music; she takes "Pipa and Symphony Orchestra" and "Multiple Combinations of Chinese Pluck Music" as research and practice topics. Performer of the concerto special concert.

As a music educator, her success is not only reflected in the many students she teaches who have won many awards in major music competitions at home and abroad, and she has also won the Yang Xuelan Music Education Award, but also in her attention to social music education . She has been invited to give lectures at Columbia University, Yale University, Harvard University, University of Miami, University of Kansas, Hong Kong Baptist University, City University of Hong Kong, National Centre for the Performing Arts, and Communication University of China, especially in the "Qi Play" for the purpose of popularizing concert hall culture. The "Let's Talk" concert was well received by the public. Founded by Zhang Hongyan and serving as music director, the Central Conservatory of Music Strumming Orchestra is the most creative strumming ensemble in China today. In 2007, she collaborated with the Dutch Channel record company and recorded the band's first global release album "Picture China".
