On the evening of July 25, "Light is on the String - Li Pengqi Erhu Solo Concert" was held in Changsha Concert Hall. Blind erhu player Li Pengqi won applause for his superb performance.
He is blind in both eyes and cannot see the score, but with his obsession with erhu art, he uses music to light up his life. On the evening of July 25th, with the graceful sound of music in the Xiangjiang Hall of Changsha Concert Hall, "Light on the Strings - Li Pengqi Erhu Solo Concert" was staged wonderfully here. Li Pengqi, a blind erhu player, won applause for his superb and skillful performance on stage.
The concert was directed by the Hunan Disabled Persons' Federation and the Hunan Culture and Art Foundation, sponsored by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Film and Television, and the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Agricultural Workers' Party, and the Erhu Society of the Hunan Musicians Association, Hunan Organized by the Datong Society of the Provincial Musicians Association, the Huqin Professional Committee of the Hunan National Orchestra Society, and Hunan Yule Culture Communication Co., Ltd. Changsha Symphony Orchestra and Hunan Chinese Orchestra will perform.
The whole concert is divided into three chapters: Chasing Light and Rhythm, Blending Emotions and Interests, and Chasing Dreams with Flying Strings. There are not only piano and dulcimer accompaniment, but also new performance forms of the trio of Xiao, Erhu and Konghou. Accompanied by the Hunan Chinese Orchestra, Li Pengqi expressed his sincere thanks to the audience with an erhu and folk music "Guests from afar, Please Stay", which kicked off the concert.
Afterwards, Li Pengqi, with the cooperation of piano art director Zheng Qiaoyi and dulcimer accompaniment Long Jie, successively performed the erhu solo "Yuxiang Xing", "Mengfeng", "The Second Erhu Rhapsody" and other classic pieces. At the same time, he also performed the heartwarming "The Wish of the People of Honghu Lake" with the Hunan National Orchestra; performed the Erhu, Datong and Symphony "Liuyang Riverside" with his instructor Cai Xia; and performed with more than ten erhu performers. Together they played the erhu unison "War Horse Galloping". The wonderful performance won rounds of applause from the audience.
It is worth mentioning that this concert also invited two famous blind performers Jin Yuanhui and Mao Di as guest performers, who brought piano solo "Voice of the Valley" and bamboo flute solo "Spring to Xiangjiang", etc. Great show.
