The ancient zither and chopping zither technique is a traditional culture. Now the technique is quite mature and has become an important part of Chinese culture with the development of the times. This issue of Tianjin Satellite TV "You Are the One" welcomes Zhang Yu, the fourth generation inheritor of the "great craftsman" Guqin Zhuo Qin instrument.

Intangible cultural heritage

Zhang Yu is the inheritor of Tianjin's intangible cultural heritage "Guqin Zhuo Qin". The musical instrument Zhang is a family of Guqin makers with a history of more than 180 years. After four generations of inheritance and management, it has been awarded the title of Tianjin Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Base and listed as one of the items in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Zhang Yu, as the fourth generation inheritor of musical instrument Zhang, has nearly 20 years of experience in Zhuo Qin. His exposure to the ancient Qin since childhood has made him aware of the skills of Zhuo Qin.

Guqin production

As a child, he watched his grandfather play the piano and became interested in Zhuo Qin. But grandpa didn't let him learn at once. Instead, he began to learn by sharpening his knife according to the steps of Zhuo Qin learning. He polished all his grandpa's knives when he was in his early teens. With the help and guidance of his father and the old master in the factory, he completed the production of the first guqin at the age of 15. At the age of 20, he was able to make the guqin independently.

Zhang Yu is also the entrance disciple of Mr. Fang Jinlong, a national music performer. He performed "Qing Ping Music (Excerpt)" on the show "You Are the One".
