Dai Shuhong: also known as Xiao Yin, also known as Qin Idiot. A famous contemporary Chinese flute player. Lecturer of Chinese flute at Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He is a member of Shanghai Branch of China Musicians Association and a director of today's Yu Qin Society (general affairs). He has also been employed as a technical consultant of Suzhou No. 1 National Musical Instrument Factory.

Dai Shuhong graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music in the late 1950s and stayed in the academy to teach. He studied famous Jiangnan silk and bamboo music and Kunqu Taoist tunes from the elder Mr. Jin Zuli of national music. In the early 1960s, he joined the present Yu Qin Society. Influenced by the older generation of Qin masters, he has a deep understanding of Chinese traditional classical music. In addition to flute teaching, he is more proficient in playing the flute and has made unremitting efforts to revitalize and promote the art of playing the flute and made gratifying achievements. In particular, he was deeply influenced by Master Sun Yude, who was known as the "King of Dongxiao". Over the past decades, he has gained extraordinary insight into the exploration of Dongxiao bel canto. Everyone who has heard of his performance is full of admiration.

He has been playing zither and flute together with Mr. Zhang Ziqian (the late), a famous guqin master of China and a famous guqin player of Guangling School, for a long time. He is a bosom friend deeply loved by Mr. Zhang. In order to explore and sort out the essence of China's ancient art flowers hidden in the music of the ancient zither, he has followed Zhang Lao to learn the zither for ten years, explored deeply, fully appreciated the mysteries of the zither, and appropriately "magnified" those wonderful but very weak "signals" in the zither through the performance of the flute, receiving the beauty of "perfect combination, complement each other". In 1982, he spent four years working with Zhang Ziqian, who was over 80 years old at that time, to record and publish the Guqin music album "Dragon Flying" in the Audio Production Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, which has now become a treasure collected by zither players and national musicians at home and abroad.
