In order to better inherit the national handicrafts and help local young people find employment, the "Yangde Zhanian National Traditional Handicraft Farmers Professional Cooperative" was established on August 20, 2018 with the participation of Shanghai's 100,000 yuan start-up capital to Tibet. The cooperative is located next to National Highway 318, in Congbei Village, Resa Township, Lazi County, Shigatse City, Tibet. "Our cooperative covers an area of about 400 square meters, and the annual rent is 6,000 yuan." said Dunga, the head of the cooperative.

Dunga was a carpenter before running the cooperative and loves playing and singing the zither. With the support of the local government and Shanghai aid cadres, 9 herdsmen joined the community and prepared a total of 490,000 funds. The cooperative currently has 7 technicians (including 5 carpenters), 2 painters, and 7 apprentices from poor households; while driving more young people to find jobs, it also guarantees the income of local poor groups.

According to Dunga, the cooperative sold more than 400 Zhanian violins in 2019, mostly in Chengdu, Gansu and other surrounding areas; the operating income exceeded 800,000 yuan, and the profit income was about 380,000 yuan. "Forty percent of our pianos are sold online, and 60 percent are sold in-store. If buyers place an order online, they can go to the county for delivery in the afternoon. What is the production process of a hand-made violin? The reporter saw in the cooperative that this process includes six steps: wood willow processing, digging the piano box, mu pattern carving, piano body joint, snake skin installation, and coloring and painting. In the first step in the picture, the cooperative woodworkers are cutting and processing walnut wood with a diameter of about 60 cm into a prototype.

In the second step, two woodworkers are digging the guitar box on the basis of the prototype, which takes about half a day. According to Dunga, the highest-paid technicians in the cooperative have an annual income of 50,000 to 60,000 yuan, and the highest income of temporary apprentices is 200 yuan per day.

In the third step, the carpenter will carve the local ethnic pattern on the box, which takes about one day.

In the fourth and fifth steps, the woodworker connects the headstock and the box with glue, hangs it for 14 hours, and then installs the snakeskin surface on the box.

In the sixth step, the roughly formed piano body is colored and painted in the "painting processing department". According to the reporter's understanding, the price of the Zha Nian violins produced by the cooperative ranges from 1,000 to 10,000 yuan depending on the wood material, the fineness of the pattern carving, and the painting process.

"In 2019, the cooperative's nine herdsmen's families distributed a total of 97,500 yuan in dividends."
