The Dabia consists of a sound box, a headstock, a stem, a peg, a bridge and strings. The whole body is made of a single piece of wood, with a triangular or pear-shaped sound groove, with a handle, a slightly curved neck, and four poles at the neck end. It is tied with four strings of the same thickness and four gut strings.

It is trapezoidal, oval or triangular, the front is covered with a pine or fir panel, and there are several small circular sound holes in the middle of the panel.
