about the author

Wang Zhongshan, born in Nanyang, Henan Province, is of Mongolian nationality. He has been instructed by more than ten folk zheng masters, and later studied with Mr. Zhao Manqin, a guzheng artist. In 1986, Wang Zhongshan performed zheng pieces such as "Fighting the Tiger Up the Mountain" and "The Sun is Red on Jinggang Mountain" with a brand-new and difficult technique, which caused a sensation in the first Chinese Guzheng Academic Exchange Conference.
