Liu Chuhua, female, is a senior Guqin music instructor in Hong Kong. She has also taught Guqin lessons at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Department of Music of the Chinese University of China.

As early as when he was studying Chinese literature and philosophy at university, he developed a strong interest in traditional Chinese music. He used to play a variety of stringed instruments, and then gave up his previous studies to concentrate on the piano. In the early 1970s, Liu followed the Hong Kong violinist Ms. Cai Deyun to learn the violin, and has been influenced by her moral cultivation for more than 20 years. In the 1980s, she traveled to the mainland and visited famous artists. She was successively instructed by the late Mr. Zhang Ziqian and Mr. Yao Bingyan of Zhejiang School. Since then, she has broadened her academic and artistic horizons and gradually developed her own playing style.
