Introduction to Zheng Yang(sheng)Master performer

Zheng Yang, a young sheng player of the Beijing Chinese Orchestra, holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the Central Conservatory of Music. He has successively studied under Professor Zhang Xiaodong, Yuan Yongchang and Yang Shoucheng. He is an excellent talent introduced by the Beijing Chinese Orchestra in 2018.

He has premiered and recorded more than 100 new sheng works. As a sheng soloist, he has participated in well-known music festivals at home and abroad such as the "Warsaw Autumn" International Modern Music Festival and Beijing Modern Music Festival. He has joined hands with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and the China National Symphony Orchestra. Orchestra, the Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, and other domestic and foreign orchestras, perform the Sheng Concerto in concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and the National Centre for the Performing Arts. The sheng concertos performed by her include: Qin Wenchen's "Clouds", "Earth Sound Poems"; Jia Guoping's "Pine Wind"; Xie Wenhui "2049"; Wang Shi's "Traditional Sheng Concerto"; Liu Zhuofu's "Sheng Ming Yuan Yang"; Zheng Yang's "Winter Fu", etc. Selected for the New Talent Project, and successfully held the "Sheng Ming Yuan Yang-Zheng Yangsheng Solo Concert" at the Beijing Concert Hall. Publications: "Wind Sound - Zheng Yangsheng's Performance Album"; "Pilgrim-Zheng Yangsheng's Contemporary Works Concert", as the country's first album of modern Sheng works, was included in the Central Conservatory of Music Young Performer Series by Universal Music Publishing House; He has composed works such as "The Sound of the Wind", "Curve·Clear" and "Fu Dong Fu" for the sheng solo.
