Each of the 17 townships (towns, streets) in the county has more than 8 fitness teams for the elderly, and different forms of fitness events for the middle-aged and elderly are held every year. With the efforts of fitness enthusiasts and the help of counterpart associations, the local fitness activities for the elderly are further extended to the community.

The Qiliting community in Ziyang Town, Wuyuan County is close to the county industrial park. There is a large population here, and there is a strong demand for fitness among middle-aged and elderly people. After the waist drum team was established, Shi Fuying, president of the county waist drum association, took out more than 2,000 yuan from the pension to buy waist drums to donate to the waist drum team.

At present, the fitness and sports activities for middle-aged and elderly people in various communities (villages) in Wuyuan County have been effectively developed. 212 villages (communities) have established fitness teams and organized various forms of fitness activities for the elderly.
