The mouth flute is simple in structure and easy to make. It is mostly made of yellow withered bamboo or small water bamboo. It can also be made of long-stemmed bamboo, water hyacinth bamboo, purple bamboo or other materials.

Take a short and thin bamboo tube, the body is empty, the right end is the first hole, the left end is the second hole, the inner diameters of the left and right ends are 10.5 and 11 mm respectively, and the left and right ends are respectively 23 and 25 mm. The hole is made into a two-hole flute.

The five-hole flute has three more sound holes on the wall near the blowing holes of the two-hole flute. The five-hole flute has a pipe length of 74 mm, the inner diameters of the left and right ends are 9.5 and 10 mm, respectively. 34.5 and 39.5 mm, the third, fourth and fifth holes are cut in a straight line 14 mm from the outer edge of the blow hole. The blow hole is oval with a length of 8 mm, and the third, fourth and fifth sound holes are round with a diameter of 5 mm.
