On the morning of October 6, 2022, the founding meeting of the Guqin Professional Committee of Xi'an Ethnic Orchestra Society was held in the Chinese Guqin Museum, Si Tongxuan. This founding meeting was conducted online and offline.

Zhao Wen, president of Shaanxi Chang'an Guqin Art Research Institute, concurrently served as the chairman of the first special committee, Wang Wei, president of Mingde Qin Society of Shaanxi Musicians Association, Bai Jin, director of the Guqin Department of Xi'an Foreign Affairs University, Zhang Zhixin, doctor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and other 15 people were appointed as the executive chairman, vice chairman, and director, and Liu Zibo served as the secretary-general.

According to President Zhao Wen, Xi'an Zither Association is an academic professional organization composed of experts, performers and practitioners in Xi'an, aiming to promote the research, exchange and inheritance of Chang'an Zither, and make contributions to the development of Xi'an ancient Qin art. According to the historical abbreviation habit of "Guqin Professional Committee of China National Orchestra Association", "Guqin Professional Committee of Xi'an National Orchestra Association" is abbreviated as "Xi'an Qin Association".
