In 2022, Cangzhou City issued the Implementation Plan for the Construction of Cangzhou City's "Famous Cultural Artists Studio" and the Demonstration and Driving Project of "Cultural Stem Cells", and 20 units in the city were selected into the first batch of famous cultural artists studios, including 13 in Canal District, involving calligraphy, folk art, ancient zither, tea art and other categories.

Famous cultural experts set up public welfare classes and held cultural salons to let citizens enter the studio and feel the cultural charm.

Zhou Linhua, the leader of the studio, learned zither with Mr. Li Tianhuan, the third generation successor of the Guqin Jiuyi School, in 2012, and became his disciple in 2013. Now he is the fourth generation successor of the Guqin Jiuyi School and the founder of Cangzhou Jiuyi Society. He is currently a member of China Guqin Society, a member of China Couplet Association, a vice president of Hebei Guqin Association, and a vice president of Hebei Guqin Association.

Guqin is the oldest and most traditional plucked instrument in China, and the earliest stringed instrument of the Han nationality, with a history of more than 3000 years. Its voice range is wide, its timbre is deep, and its aftertaste is long. Guqin art is a treasure of Chinese culture. On November 7, 2003, it was listed as a representative of the world intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.

In July 2015, Zhou Linhua founded the "Cangzhou Jiuyi Qin Society", with the purpose of "promoting traditional culture and inheriting Jiuyi Qin Studies". He opened classes to bring Jiuyi Qin Studies to Cangzhou and spread them in the ancient city of Cangzhou.

Zhou Linhua's Traditional Guqin Studio, based on the "Cangzhou Jiuyi Qin Society", carries out the teaching of the inheritance of the traditional Guqin of the Jiuyi School. It is one of the first 20 "Famous Cultural Artists Studios" selected in Cangzhou. It is located on the third floor of Qingfeng Building, a cultural landmark of Cangzhou on the Grand Canal, at No. 1 Jiefang West Road, Canal District, Cangzhou City, covering an area of more than 200 square meters. Hardware mainly includes piano table, stool, guqin, display cabinet, display board, etc. The studio is led by Mr. Zhou Linhua, and a team of famous cultural artists is formed by Li Wenwen, Qi Yanjing, Zhang Shu and other backbone forces. Through the platform of the famous cultural artists studio, traditional culture is disseminated, Jiuyi Qin learning is inherited, and Cangzhou people are benefited.

Over the past seven years since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 200 musicians, developed more than 10 core members, held more than 100 lectures on traditional culture and public welfare, and held more than 60 various gatherings and performances. In August 2022, Jiuyi Guqin Music was successfully selected into the eighth batch of intangible cultural heritage projects in the Canal District.

Involving musical instruments

Guqin (pinyin: Gǔ Qín) is a traditional Chinese musical instrument with a history of at least 3,500 years. Guqin is also known as Yaoqin, Yuqin and Seven-stringed Qin.
