Yu Xunfa, born on January 8, 1946, is a native of Shanghai. Dizi player, first-class player of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. He was a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, director of the performing arts of the Shanghai Musicians Association, and a member of the Shanghai CPPCC. He died of illness in Shanghai on January 21, 2006 at the age of 61. Everyone in the world praises "Yu Boya in ancient times, now there is Yu Xunfa." Mr. Yu Xunfa's flute music is superb.
Yu Xunfa has visited more than 30 countries and regions on five continents including Europe, Asia, America, Australia and Africa since the early 1970s. He has been invited many times by Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau to give individual concerts and lectures. He also performed impromptu concerts with famous performers from Holland, Japan and India. He toured in Europe and made a useful exploration of the cooperation and communication between folk music and Western music.
Yu Xunfa has recorded more than 10 flute albums. Such as "Confluence", "Shen Yun of Langya", "Autumn Thoughts on the Dressing Table", "Pastoral Song", "The Piper on the River Bank", "Taiwan Folk Song" and so on.
