double row konghou overview

double row konghou The double-row stringed Konghou (pinyin: shuāng pái xián kōng hóu) is a new type of plucked stringed musical instrument in my country. In the long history of Konghou that has been circulating for nearly two thousand years, it has always followed the structure and appearance when it was introduced, but this phenomenon was finally changed in the 1970s. The musical instrument maker Han Qihua first successfully created the double-stringed Konghou in the field of Konghou, which not only made the structure and playing technique of the Konghou develop by leaps and bounds, but also made the appearance of the Konghou completely new. It has been used in music practice, and for the first time, Konghou is used in film music.

In 1958, Han Qihua, a national musical instrument maker from Shenyang Musical Instrument Factory, started the excavation of Konghou, the heritage of ancient northern ethnic musical instruments in my country. In 1963, Han Qihua completed the design and production of the first draft of Konghou, but failed to receive the desired effect. After 1975, he carried out the design and production of the second and third drafts. In accordance with the principle of "one imitation, two reforms, and three creations" formulated by him, he continued to achieve results in the excavation and research work. In 1978, after 20 years of research, exploration and experimentation, Han Qihua finally completed the design and production of his fourth draft of the Konghou, creating a brand-new double-stringed Konghou, which contributed to the development of my country's musical instrument industry.

This double-row string konghou has a total height of 175 cm and a bottom length of 85 cm. There is a column on one side of the bass string, which is a frame-type vertical konghou. In the Chinese Musical Instrument Museum of the Institute of Music of the China Academy of Arts in Beijing, there is a double row string konghou on display. Made of pine wood, the overall height is 188.5 cm, the bottom length is 57 cm, and the width is 13 cm. There is a square column-shaped piano column on one side of the bass string, which is a frame-type vertical konghou.
