Fitk overview

Fitk Feitekena (pinyin: fēi tè kè nà) is a plucked stringed musical instrument of the Xibe people. The Xibe language "fitek na" means plucked music and flowers open, so it is also called plucked piano. It is popular in Qabqal Xibe Autonomous County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The appearance of Fitkna has been significantly different from that of Dongbull. It is composed of a resonance box, a headstock, a piano rod, a peg, a bridge, a tailpiece and a string. . The tailpiece and tailguard are located below the top, and a wooden post is located at the bottom.

The sound of Feitekna is beautiful and pleasant. It not only retains the characteristics of Dongbull's mellow and soft pronunciation, but also has a unique timbre of crisp, melodious, vigorous and agitation. The volume is also significantly increased, and the sound is loud. Often used in solos, ensembles, or to accompany folk songs and dances.
