Bolu

Bolu (pinyin: bō lú), a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Zhuang nationality, is popular in Fengshan, Donglan, Bama and other places in the Hechi area of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Bolu tube body is made of bamboo, the tube length is 40 cm, the upper end is closed with a bamboo joint, the lower end is open, the outer diameter is 1.8 cm, and the inner diameter is 1.2 cm.

The sound of Bolu is clear, crisp and bright, and the volume is large. Often used for solos, ensembles, or to accompany folk songs. He is good at playing warm and cheerful tunes, mostly from folk songs or minor tunes. It is an inseparable folk musical instrument in Zhuang villages during festivals, festive occasions or slack.
