Double-pipe muffled flute (pinyin: shuāng guǎn mèn dí), a double-reed air-sounding instrument of the Yi nationality, is popular in Nanhua, Shuangbai and Nanjian Yi Autonomous County of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and Nanjian Yi Autonomous County of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture.

The traditional double-pipe muffler is made of two single-pipe small mufflers with the same size, length, hole spacing and pitch tied side by side. The tube body is made of bamboo, and it is mostly made of Phoenix tail bamboo with the thickness of the pen tube. The tube body is transparent from top to bottom, the tube length is 10 cm to 15 cm, and the inner diameter of the lower mouth is 0.8 cm to 0.9 cm. Flatten the pipe wall on one side adjacent to the two pipes, and tie the ends of the pipes firmly with ropes or thin iron wires. A double-reed whistle is inserted into the upper end of the two pipes. The pipe whistle is made of worm cocoons, with a snake-head shape and a length of 1.5 cm. It is mostly made of a kind of moth sac (cocoon) knotted on olive trees and wild wormwood trees in the valleys of subtropical regions. After pressing, roasting, grinding and other processes made.
