They are not only different in size, but also different in style and use. The larger one is called Bugu, and the slightly smaller one is called Chek.
The bamboo knocking tube of Jinuo people is made of seven green bamboo tubes of different lengths. One end is made of bamboo joints, and the other end is beveled, and a small groove of about five centimeters is opened on one side of the tube body. The pitch of the groove is close to the bottom of the tube, and the pitch is far away. The shorter the bamboo tube, the higher the pitch, and the longer the pitch, the lower the pitch. Pitch without peeling, low after peeling.
Seven bamboo tubes can knock out three tones. The first one strikes the most urgently, and the others slow down in turn according to the tone. The history of the custom of knocking bamboo tubes can be traced back to ancient times, and it is closely related to the hunting of the ancestors.
At that time, when hitting wild boars, red deer, and other big beasts, one set of bamboo tubes with a large diameter was hit; when hitting small beasts such as jasmine, one set of bamboo tubes with smaller diameters was hit, and two sets of beasts were hit together. So people can tell what kind of beast they hit from the sound of the bamboo tube.
